For the past 5 years, your YMCA has been focused on providing affordable programs and services in a safe and nurturing environment. As a not-for-profit child
and family social service organization, we strive to
meet the emerging needs of each community we
serve. We are committed to building strong kids,
strong families and strong communities through
one of our most important goals: to enrich the lives
of kids in our communities. But when some are
left out, it leaves us all a bit poorer. As a person
with a vested interest in the future of your community,
you can help these kids grow into responsible, successful
adults.
YMCA activities help children develop
valuable skills, gain confidence, and build self-esteem.
By contributing to YMCA Strong Kids, you can help us
teach these young people such important values as
caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith.
Your YMCA Mission: “To put Christian principles into practice
through programs that build healthy spirit,
mind and body for all.”
Financial Need Statement: “No one will be denied
access to YMCA programs or services due to an
inability to pay.” Funds made available for financial assistance
are provided through the generous giving of
individuals and businesses to the YMCA’s
annual Strong Kids Campaign.
Your YMCA will always strive to make every day a brighter day for
everyone we serve:
Your YMCA touches over 3500 participants each year with
30 different programs in Dubois, Perry and Spencer counties.
Our programs continue to grow each year: pre-school sports,
youth sports, summer camps, holiday camps, afterschool, healthy
lifestyle programs, Y Wee Care CDC… just to name a few!
Since 2004, over $53,000 in membership and program
scholarships has been directly provided to families and children.
In 2008, nearly $62,000 of services has been provided to
communities in Dubois, Perry and Spencer counties through
outreach programs and reduced fees to youth caring organizations.
Your YMCA will partner with anyone who has lost their employment
due to company downsizing or layoff by providing a 3 month
YMCA Membership.
This year’s Strong Kids Campaign is launched with an
ambitious goal of raising $40,000.00. We ask for your
prayerful support to provide more kids and families in our
communities the opportunity to share the YMCA experience.
Your gift of $45 builds self-esteem and confidence by providing one child an
experience with pre-school sports programs.
Your gift of $120 makes it possible for one child to attend one week at the Y Wee Care
Child Development Center, with caring staff in a nurturing and
educational environment.
Your gift of $320 allows one child to attend summer day camp for one month to
develop new friendships and experience fun and challenging
activities.
Your gift of $500 enables one family the opportunity to develop a healthier lifestyle in
spirit, mind and body for one year as YMCA members.
Your gift of $800 allows 18 children to experience one week of YMCA afterschool
activities including homework help and fitness activities to improve
family time at home.
